Within the framework of the modernization of public passenger transport systems, the Xunta de Galicia is developing the MoBT platform based on an ABT system (Account Based Ticketing).
With MoBT, travelers will be offered new payment methods as alternatives to cash, along with improvements over the current TMG or Xente Nova card. With MoBT, you will be able to pay for your trips using your mobile phone through a QR code and, soon, with a bank card or the new MoBT card.
Additionally, MoBT offers you an advanced search tool that will include all public transport services in Galicia, so you can conveniently plan your journeys.
MoBT aims to drive a digital transformation from the user's perspective, providing new services and moving towards a digital and sustainable public transport system.
MoBT is funded through the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, specifically within Component 1 “Shock Plan for sustainable, safe, and connected mobility in urban and metropolitan environments” and Component 6 “Sustainable, safe, and connected mobility.”
Advantages of MoBT
With MoBT, users will have a cloud account with an associated virtual wallet. The balance of the virtual wallet can be checked at any time via the app or the web portal. You will be able to top up your virtual wallet from your mobile phone and soon, from the web or via the Abanca ATM network. You can also review your travel history through the app.
The main advantage of the new MoBT system is that we will apply the discounts you are entitled to directly to the amount to be paid on the bus. This means if you are a Xente Nova or +65 user, you will travel for free and no balance will be deducted from your wallet. If you are entitled to discounts for frequency or for being part of a large family, the discount will be applied directly to the amount to be paid on the bus.
